14s Adv Midwest Finalists

The 14s Advanced team finished 2nd at the Midwest Championships dropping only one match to a very strong Chicago team.  3 of the matches the team won were very close.  In addition to Neha Dudipala, Erin Zhao, Alex Heiden, and Osuke Fujita from last years team, the team also Arya Dudipala and Kai Britz.

18s Int Midwest Championship Finalists

The RCC 18s int made the finals of the Midwest Championships.  They lost in an effort to make a repeat trip to Nationals where they finished 2nd last year.  They came back to win an exciting match in the semis against a team from Chicago before losing to a very strong team from Grand Rapids in the final.  The team included Shuo Liu, Alex Hulka, Elliot Jones, Nicole Holman, Erica Chen and Masha Manilchuk.

USTA Midwest Level 3

Congratulations to Maddie Atway for winning the Girls 12s Midwest Level 3 last weekend in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  She defeated 2 seeds and won 7-5 7-5 in the finals.

Congratulations to Alex Cash for reaching the Consolation Finals and winning 6 rounds in the Girls 18s.

RCC 14s Int Midwest Champions

RCC sent 6 teams to the Midwest Championships last weekend in Indianapolis.  The 14s Int won the Midwest qualifying to go to Nationals in Columbia, South Carolina.  This marks the 6th straight year that Racquet Club has sent at least 1 team to Nationals.  The team defeated Grant County in the semifinals and in a rematch of the OVTA District Finals, they defeated New Albany Tennis Center.
The team only dropped 3 pro sets the whole tournament.  The team was made up of Evelyn Holman, Angela Li, Rosie Gliatis, Nick Gruss, Adam Sorrels, Nathan Yu and Dev Vasani.  Coach Mike Kathary coached the team in the finals.  Angela, Evelyn and Nick were on the team last year that lost in the finals at Midwest.
