National Open Champions

Congratulations to Robert Cash / Jack Dabek for winning the Boys 12s National Open Doubles this afternoon in Monroeville, PA.  They defeated the 1 seeds 8-5 in the semis and won the final 8-2.  Robert also won the Sportsmanship Award.

ITA National Indoor OSU vs UVA Metka/Rola vs Domijan/Frank

Ohio State reached the semifinals of the ITA National Indoor last weekend at University of Washington.  Kevin Metka played doubles with Blaz Rola and they defeated the #1 player in the country Alex Domijan, along with former ITA #1 Mitchell Frank.  Virginia defeated USC in the final.
Ohio State plays at home this Saturday at 12:00 against Notre Dame, and Sunday at 12:00 against LSU.

Girls 12s Midwest Level 1 Indoor

Congratulations to Sarina Xie who made the quarterfinals of the consolation at the Girls 12s Midwest Level I Indoor in Schaumburg, Illinois.  She won 4 matches, including 3 wins over seeds.

Midwest Level 3 Boys 14s

Congratulations to Rohith Koneru for getting 3rd place at the Boys 14s Midwest Level 3 Championships last weekend in Port Huron. He beat the 2 seed in the quarterfinals. Nikil Rangaswamy also had a great tournament, winning 3 matches.

Top 10 Tennis Training (playlist)

I have added a youtube channel for fitness training for tennis.  This is a top 10 playlist.  Many of them are dynamic movements.  Some of the exercises show 2 different progressions / variations.  The focus is on core and lower body strength, explosive movements, flexibility, and injury prevention.  There are many more exercises on the channel.

Boys 10s Midwest Indoor Closed

Congratulations to Griffin Biernat who won 4 matches at the Midwest Indoor Closed 10s over the weekend in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  He reached the final round of the Consolation.
Connor Biernat won a Grand Rapids Boys 16s tournament while there.

Girls 14s Tournament Finalists

Congratulations to Paige Kompa and Sarina Xie.  They reached the finals of the Wickertree girls 14s tournament.  Paige won 7-5 6-4.

The 1st Annual RCC Table Tennis Tournament was held on Saturday at the Columbus Table Tennis Club.  The event was a lot of fun, and we will run another one soon.  Congratulations to Elliot Jones and Ryan Young who won the tournament.

Midwest Level 4 Tournament

Congratulations to Ashley Thai for reaching the Consolation Finals (unplayed) at the Girls 18s Midwest Level 4 Tournament.  She was unseeded and defeated the 2 and 4 seeds, and won 3 matches in 3rd Set Match Breakers.

Chillicothe Tournament Champions

Congratulations to Madison Spiess and Rohith Koneru for winning the Girls 10s and Boys 16s the previous weekend in Chillicothe at the Ninth Annual Aaron Koch Open.

Table Tennis Tournament 2/9

There will be a Table Tennis Tournament next Saturday 2/9 at 5:00 P.M.
This is the 1st Annual RCC Table Tennis Tournament and will be held at the Columbus Table Tennis Club, located at 2901 Olentangy River Rd.  The cost is $10.  The format will be determined based on the number of applicants.  Register by emailing rccjuniortennis@gmail.com.
