RCC Reopening May 26th

Beginning Tuesday, May 26, the Racquet Club will be reopening.  Thank you for your support and understanding as we have all been dealing with the COVID-19 restrictions.  We are looking forward to seeing you all again, and to get everyone back on the tennis courts.

We are committed to keeping everyone safe with constant and continuing disinfecting of contact points and surfaces, as well as ball baskets and hoppers.  We will practice and enforce responsible social distancing.  A barrier has been installed at the front desk to protect staff and customers.  Staff will be wearing facial coverings and will be regularly disinfecting around the club.  The club will be cleaned and disinfected nightly by a highly trained cleaning crew.

The final 2 weeks of the Winter Session Junior Programs will resume May 26 thru June 6.  All classes will be held at the same time, with the exception of Saturday June 6th which is a makeup for Monday March 16th.  Space is limited, and students must confirm in advance that they are coming.

A list of restrictions and protocols are listed on the website https://racquetclub1.com/

The Summer Junior Program will run June 8th through August 15th.  The information is posted on the website, along with online registration.

Freshman All American

Ohio State freshman Robert Cash was named an ITA All American in Doubles this week.  He along with Cannon Kingsley are 2 of only 4 Buckeyes to earn All-America honors in their 1st season.  He and John McNally won the ITA Midwest Regional Title in an exciting comeback and reached the finals of National ITA Fall Championships.  They were 22-5 on the season, and ranked number 1 for part of the season, never dropping below the ranking of #3.

Robert becomes the 2nd player from RCC to become an ITA Division I All American.  Fellow Buckeye Kevin Metka was named an All American in 2014 and 2015.  In 2014 he and doubles partner Peter Kobelt reached the NCAA Finals where they lost in the closest final in history.  Kevin's amazing career also included being an ITA Scholar Athlete and winning the Big 10 Medal of Honor.
