Congratulations to Robert Cash for picking up his 2nd ball in as many tournaments last weekend in Kalamazoo. Robert got 3rd at the USTA National Championships Boys 16s Doubles with Ryder Jackson.
They defeated last years Winter Nats champions Gonzalez / Johns 6-4 6-2 in the Round of 16. In the semifinals, they fell to the champions William Grant and Tyler Zink in 3 sets. Cash and Jackson bounced back to defeat the 2 seeds 6-4 6-2 in the final match to finish 3rd and get a Bronze Ball.
Also competing at the Zoo were Jack Dabek and Connor Biernat in Boys 18s Doubles. They fell 10-8 in the 3rd to a seed.

14s Int RCC Midwest JTT
RCC sent 2 14s Int teams to the JTT Midwest Championships in Indianapolis. RCC1 played in the most exciting match of the weekend, tying West Indy Aces 35-35, but lost in the mixed doubles tiebreaker. The team coached by Zack Schwenning included Owen Alderman, Aditya Reddy, Ava Richard, Rena Zhao, Reece Page, Brayden Chawla, Nikhitha Bhimreddy and Emma Wang.
The team battled back from a 3 game deficit to win mixed doubles 8-5 and force a tiebreaker.
Rcc2 also competed in Indianapolis at the Midwest Championships. The team coached by Zack and Gabe included Hayes Houseworth, Mihai Crisan, Shriya Palusa, Sadeq Al-Ali, Ria Singhal, Pranav Krishnan and Isha Sawhney. Also on the team but not at the tournament were Daley Straub, Ryan Baxley, Olivia Westin, and Grace Webster.

14s Adv RCC Midwest Champions
Congratulations to the 14s advanced RCC team for winning the JTT Midwest Championships for the 2nd year in a row. The team coached by Bryan Nibert included Anh Thi Thai, Nicole Santoso, Lauren Motta, Noah Mizer, Tanish Pairu, Nick Geelan and Sam Routzahn. They qualified to go to Nationals in Orlando.
They won their last match 29-23 and needed Columbus Adv from Indiana to lose 3 games in their last match to tie with 132 games each. RCC won the tiebreaker with more courts won.
Also on the team but not at the tournament were Caroline Sproule, Griffin Biernat and Parth Patel.

RCC 18s Adv Midwest Champions
The RCC 18s Adv team repeated as Midwest Champions at the Junior Team Tennis Championships in Indianapolis last weekend. They were one of 3 RCC teams to win the Midwest Tournament. The team coached by Mike Kathary included Lalassa Nagireddy, Kathleen Jones, Paige Kompa, Alex Cash, Jordan Phelps, Jack Dabek, Jonathan Zhuravel and Colten Clark.
They defeated Grant County in the final, and completed the tournament without dropping a single court. They qualified for Nationals in September in Florida.

RCC 18s Int Midwest Champions
3 of the 4 teams that qualified for JTT Nationals were from RCC. For the 1st time two RCC teams 3 of the 4 teams that qualified for JTT Nationals were from RCC. For the 1st time two RCC teams made the Finals of the Midwest Junior Team Tennis Championships last weekend in Indianapolis. This was in 18s int and it is the 2nd time that an 18s Int team has qualified for Nationals from RCC.
RCC1 defeated RCC3 in the final. They each won their flights. RCC1, coached by CJ Cash, included Angela Li, Wendy Shi, Ashley Weeks, Evelyn Holman, Stanley Cao, Anay Reddy, Emerson Dean and Masha Manilchuk.
RCC3, coached by Ken Berlin, included Joe Hill, Anurag Reddy, Robby Berling, Shivam Patel, Alex Graham, Rosie Gliatis, Katie Yao and Priyanka Agochiya.

WTT Junior Nationals
RCC got 3rd place at the World Team Tennis Junior Nationals last week in San Diego. The team was made up of Colten Clark, Jonathan Zhuravel, Stu Brdicka, Alex Cash, Kathleen Jones and Paige Kompa.
The team which had to save multiple match points at Midwest to qualify, defeated Eastern, OC Breakers and Hawaii in their flight. They fell in a close match to California Coast Crushers in the semifinals 39-34 after forcing overtime. The most exciting match came in the match for 3rd place, as the Midwest RCC team went into the last 2 courts of Mixed doubles trailing by 13 games. Colten and Kathleen won 6-1 and then Paige and Stu won 6-1 on the designated court forcing overtime. They saved match points and won 3 more games to force a sudden death tiebreaker, and won the tiebreaker 7-5 for 3rd place over Intermountain 37-36.

USTA National Clay Courts Champion
Congratulations to Robert Cash for winning the Boys 16s Doubles with Ryder Jackson at the USTA National Clay Court Championships in Delray Beach.
Robert picked up his 3rd Gold Ball in Doubles. After winning a close 3 setter in the round of 16, they didn't drop another set, defeating the 2 seeds in the final 6-2 6-4.
