12s USTA Regional Tournament Champion

Congratulations to Robert Cash who won the January USTA Regional Tournament 12s Doubles today in Dayton.  He and Ian Brady were unseeded and defeated the 1, 2, and 4 seeds.  They won 8-4 in the finals.  He was also made the semifinals of singles unseeded.

10 and Under Tennis at RCC

The Racquet Club of Columbus Junior Program had 5 players finish 2012 in the top 60 in the Midwest in 10 and Unders, along with the #1 player in Boys 10s Doubles.

Ohio State Tennis Season

The Mens Ohio State men's tennis team opens its spring season today with matches against Butler at 12:00 p.m. and Xavier at 6:00 p.m at the Varsity Tennis Center.  Xavier has a deep lineup, including many strong players from Ohio.

Ohio State has the longest active streak in Division I sports with 148 consecutive home victories.  They are currently ranked 4 in the country.  Two native Columbus players are in the ITA top 30, with Peter Kobelt currently ranked number 1 and Chris Diaz ranked number 30.

Holiday 2 on 2 Tournament

Congratulations to Ella Hazelbaker and Madison Spiess for winning the Superstars 2 on 2 tournament.

Midwest 10s Level 3

Griffin Biernat reached the finals of the Midwest Level 3 10s Championships last weekend in Toledo.
Arya Dudipala finished 3rd in the Girls 10s.  Madison Spiess and Maddie Atway also won 1st round matches, with Madison Spiess defeating the 1 seed.

Midwest Level 3 12s Singles / Doubles / Sportsmanship

Congratulations to Robert Cash, who not only won the Singles championship at the Midwest Level 3 in Cincinnati, but also won the Doubles and the Sportsmanship award.  He defeated the 1 seed 6-3 6-3 in the singles final.
