Melvin earns 1st ACC Win

Congratulations to Jeffrey Melvin who got his 1st ACC win for Boston College in Doubles on Friday over Georgia Tech 8-6.  This was the teams only victory against Tech.  He also won in singles versus Assumption and Southern New Hampshire.
On Sunday Jeffrey got to compete against the nation's number 1 recruit and Boys 18s National Champion Collin Altamarino and Luca Corinteli from UVA.

USTA National Spring Team Championships

Congratulations to Robert Cash for competing at the USTA National Spring Team Championships in Mobile, Alabama last week.

Unfortunately the event had to deal with rain every day and shorten the format.  Robert played #1 for his team the Broncos.

Midwest Level 4 Championships

Congratulations to Maddie Atway, Jordan Phelps and Trevor Ball for reaching the finals and semifinals of the Midwest Level 4 Championships last weekend.

Atway reached the Girls 12s final in the Midwest East Level 4 Championships in Dayton, defeating the 2 and 4 seeds.  Madison Spiess also reached the Consolation Finals, winning 3 matches and defeating the 3 and 7 seeds.

Jordan Phelps got 3rd place at the Boys 16s Midwest West Championships at Purdue.

Trevor Ball got 3rd place at the Boys 14s Midwest East Championships in Midland, winning his last match in a third set breaker.

OVTA Area Qualifiers Discontinued

This year area qualifiers have been eliminated by Ohio Valley.  Players can enter directly to the Ohio Valley Midwest Qualifiers which are June 6 - 9.  The quota spots for the district has also been reduced to 14, however there will be more at large spots based off of Midwest ranking.  Players must play and complete the District Tournament to be eligible for Team Cup or the Midwest Closed.  More information is found here.

Congratulations to Trevor Ball who reached the Consolation Finals of the Boys 14s Midwest Level 4 Championships last weekend in Cincinnati.
Trevor was unseeded and beat the 8 and 4 seeds.
